THERMOCHEMICAL REACTIONS
1.These reactions involve absorption or evolution of heat.
2.They can take place even in absence of light
3.Temperature has significant effect on the rate of a thermochemical reaction.
4.The free energy change ∆G of a thermochemical reaction is always negative.

PHOTOCHEMICAL REACTIONS
1.These reactions involve absorption of light.
2.The presence of light is the primary requisite for the reaction to take place.
3.Temperature has very little effect on the rate of a photochemical reaction. Instead, the intensity of light has a marked effect on the rate of a photochemical reaction.
4.The free energy change ∆G of a photochemical reaction may not be negative.

Answer:

Thermochemical and Petrochemical reactions  are secondary activities that occur within the atmosphere that pollute the environment.

The main problem caused by this is that they induce global warming and as a result cause penetration of harmful sun rays t o the earths surface therefore leading to disadvantages such as prolonged droughts and also other problems that come with global warming.

Photochemical reactions take course as a result of light while thermochemical take course as a result of heating of the environment.
