Humans are not “interesting” to be hunted systematically, as they tend to get together and defend themselves quite fiercely. A potential man-eater might not fully think this through, but those tend to not survive to have cubs and teach them to hunt humans. So people have managed to not be anyone’s natural prey for a very long time.
