"They are sitting against each other" please tell me in this line the preposition "against" is correct or not.

i think that is correct

because the word against in english meant that in opposition

so that means the direction of two persons are in opposite direction

hear in this line that has given means the people are sitting opposite to each other

this is in my opinion
