2. After 2-3 minutes place the
leaf in a test tube half filled
with spirit in a water bath.

4. Take out the leaf with the help of forceps and wash it in freshwater.

The leaf becomes blue-black in colour. The blue-black colour of leaf indicates
resence of starch.​
