The above extract has been from the poem " Daffodils " written by William Wordsworth. The stars of the galaxy are numberless and endless . They can not be counted. They were never ending in numbers .The daffodils were too numerous in numbers and spread throughout the valley beneath the trees and beside the lake .Hence , the poet compared the daffodils to the stars of the Milky Way galaxy and said that --- " They stretch in never - ending line " .
