Answer:

She should be fit with hearing aids and sent to a school for the deaf.

Active and Passive Voice :

➸ When morals are used in the active voice. Such as : modal + verb, then the passive voice will be : modal + be + V3.

➸ Sentences in active voice are simple and easy to understand.

➸ In passive voice, we use past participle form of the verb along with appropriate form of auxiliary be.

➸ Some examples :

  • My parents gave him a gift.

He was given a gift by my parents.

  • We will invite him.

He will be invited by us.

  • They were playing cricket.

Cricket was being played by them.

  • He was waiting for me.

I was being waited for by him.

  • He should stop drinking alcohol.

There are two types of voice:-

  • Active voice

  • Passive voice

Active voice:-

When subject does something in a sentence it is said to be in Active voice.

Subject + Verb + Object

Passive voice:-

When something had done to the substance in a sentence it is said to be in Passive voice.

Object + Verb + By + Subject

Rules for changing active voice into passive voice:-

⭐️The object of the verb is changed to the subject position and the subject to the object position.

⭐️Verb in active voice is changed into its Passive form(Past participle form).

⭐️ While changing we have to aware of Verb.

⭐️ In active voice the subject is initial position .

⭐️In passive voice the object is in initial position .

⭐️The object in active voice becomes subject in passive voice.

⭐️Verbs in present continuous tense, past continuous tense and future continuous tense cannot be changed into passive voice.

⭐️In passive voice, 'by' is placed before the object

⭐️.If there are modals in the sentence, then the form is \boxed{\rm{modal + be + past \: participle}}modal+be+pastparticiple modal+be+pastparticiple modal.

⭐️The pronouns in the active are also changed accordingly like I becomes me, they becomes them etc.

⭐️For order making sentences, the passive form is \boxed{\rm{let + object + be + past \: participle}}let+object+be+pastparticiple let+object+be+pastparticiple let+object+be+pastparticiple .

Active and Passive Voice –

  • verb(s) - is/am/are + verb(ed)
  • verb(ed) - was/were verb(ed)
  • will + V1 - will be verb(ed)
  • is/am/are gerund - is/am/are being verb(ed)
  • was/were gerund - was/were being verb(ed)
  • has/have verb(ed) - had/have been verb(ed)
  • had verb(ed) - had been verb(ed)
  • will have verb(ed) - would be verb(ed)
  • would V1 - would be verb(ed)

  • Modal V1 - modal be verb(ed)

  • to have verb(ed) - to have been verb(ed)
  • gerund - being verb(ed)

We usually use the passive voice

  • For emphasis

Ex:- A tree in out garden was uprooted by the strom.

  • Here the stress is on the fact that the tree in the garden was uprooted rather than on the storm.

  • When the identity of the subject is not clear or not known.

Ex:- The glass window pane was broken (By some one)

Some sentences in the active voice have two objects .

  • The direct object answers the question Whom or What.

  • The indirect object answers the question of To whom,or For whom.

Ex:- Sita drew a map for geetha.

  • Here a map answer that question What and is the object.

  • Geetha answers the question for whom and is the Indirect object.
