चालक माध्यम के भीतर किसी प्रष्ठ के लम्बवत दिशा मे इकाई क्षेत्रफल के द्वारा प्रवाहित होने वाली विद्युत धारा, धारा घनत्व (करेन्ट डेन्सिटी) कहलाती है। यह एक सदिश राशि है, जबकि धारा स्वयं एक अदिश राशि होती है। धारा घनत्व को J से प्रदर्शित करते हैं। इसका S.I मात्रक एम्पियर/मी२ होता है।
