Thick white fumes are formed when a glass rod dipped in NH4OH is brought near the mouth of a bottle full of HCl gas. Why?​

this happens because the HCl vapours react with NH4OH to form NH4Cl which are the white fumes.

here no water is formed

these white fumes  are very fine ammonium chloride crystals
