Terylene is a artificial polyester fibre that finds its applications in textile industry. It is a polymer of ethylene glycol and terephthelic acid. Terephthelic acid is obtained from petroleum.

The features of fabrics obtained are crease resistant, strong and elastic in nature. It is used for production of bed lining and sails etc.
