In GALL BLADDER, bile juice gets concentrated.

  • Gall bladder is a pouch/sac like organ located on the inferior surface (i.e. below) of the liver (i.e. largest gland)

Anatomy:

  • It has three parts : Fundus, Body and Neck.

  • It is present in close proximity to the duodenum.

Function:

  • The main function of the gallbladder is to temporarily store and concentrate the bile juice from the liver.

  • This concentrated bile is responsible for fat digestion.

Pathological Conditions:

  • Chole-lithiasis : Stones in gallbladder.

  • Cholecystitis : Inflammation of gallbladder.

  • Carcer of Gallbladder, etc.
