Thin slices of carrot cook faster than big chunks of carrot. Why​

When anything is cut into smaller pieces it takes less time to cook because there is more surface area for the heat to reach for example if you have a steak in one piece it will take longer than slicing the steak and cooking it that way because the heat can reach the center of the item quicker and it will be cooked quicker.

Answer : this is because there is less cells in sliced up carrots so its easier for thermal energy to make them nice and hot.
