Think about a time when you pretended to be less affected by something than you actually were. Maybe you pretended to be less upset or sad about a disappointment, or maybe you pretended to be less scared in a movie. Reflect on why you behaved that way. What are you doing when you pretend to be less emotionally invested? Over the course of the next two days, observe your behavior to see if you are “acting” in any way to minimize your feelings to outside observers. Take note of any time you do that and consider why you might be doing that.
