Answer:
1) What are the two strange things the guru and his disciple find in the Kingdom of Fools?
Answer: The Kingdom of fools unlike other places functioned in a different way. The king changed night into day and day into night and ordered his citizens to carry out their work during nights and sleep when Sun rises. They also found everything costing for only duddu.
2) Why does the disciple decide to stay in the Kingdom of Fools?
Answer: The disciple was fascinated by the cheap products available there. He wanted to stay there, eat all his favourite food at a low cost and lead a luxurious life. It was not a good idea. He did not listen to his guru's wisdom and didn't realized the conflicts that he was going to experience.
3) Name all the people who are tried in the king's court, and give the reasons for their trial.
The rich merchant, the bricklayer, the dancing girl and goldsmith are all tried in the king's Court.
4) Who is the real culprit according to the king? Why does he escape punishment?
Answer: After the king completed his interrogation with his suspects, justice had come a full circle and pointed the merchant who is the owner of the house to be guilty. The king wanted to replace someone in his place as the interrogation with the merchant's son proved his father dead. Therefore the king announced the merchant's son to be the real culprit. The king told that he was the person who inherited all the riches and luxuries of his father and so should be responsible for his sins. He was considered as the root of all causes. The making of the new stake for execution was on process. After it was made, the merchant's son was bought under execution. To his luck, he was too thin to fit in the stake. This way he escaped the punishment and the king ordered a fat person to be searched. And in this way, the disciple was being caught and was ordered for execution.
5) What are the Guru's words of wisdom? When does the disciple remember them?
Answer: The Guru's wisdom was widespread and the disciple realised it at a later moment. He told that it is very difficult to predict the actions of fools. They could cause any harm to the disciple. The disciple remembers his advise when he was been caught for execution. He tried to explain more to the king's servant that he was an innocent who had no connection with the murder and he was also a sanyasi. but he was not considered. When he was being brought for the execution, he prayed his guru in his heart and wanted his guru to aid him. The guru with his magical powers saw the future and came to help his disciple. The guru used his wisdom and both of them escaped from the execution.
6) How does the guru manage to save his disciple's life?
Answer: The Guru managed to save his disciple's life using his wisdom. They both created a drama and started arguing to be executed first. When the king asked the guru, he told that the new stake is the god of justice and whoever is being executed in that will become the next king and next the minister. He also tells that he wants to enjoy the luxuries experienced by a king. The king trusted the guru blindly and believed that the holy man doesn't lie. So during night, the king and minister released the guru and his disciple and the king and the minister disguised themselves as the guru and his disciple respectively. They were taken to the stake and were executed by their servants. The guru was a wise man and knew fools could believe his sayings easily and managed to escape from them in a safe manner. The guru and his disciple became the next rulers of the foolish kingdom and changed the old laws.
