The following paragraph can be written explaining the ideas mentioned in the excerpt.
Jonas is a 12-year-old boy. He has been chosen as the new Receiver of Memory. It is a very important position. The Receiver of Memory stores the collective memories of the community. When the assignment was given to Jonas, he was scared and afraid like any 12-year-old would be. But, he also felt elated and excited about the opportunity he had been provided with. Since, as it has been previously established the position was very important. Then later on when a little time has passed it finally dawns upon him the responsibilities he would have to fulfill. The solitude and the loneliness that comes along with the position were among his chief concerns. Thus, Jonas felt a little bit of both elation and fear after being assigned as the Receiver of Memory.
