Answer:

a)Animals get their energy from the food they eat. Animals depend on other living things for food. Some animals eat plants while others eat other animals. This passing of energy from the sun to plants to animals to other animals is called a food chain....

b)Producers, such as plants, create their own nutrients, while primary consumers, also called herbivores, rely on producers for food. The food chain describes who eats whom in the wild. ... When the fox dies, bacteria break down its body, returning it to the soil where it provides nutrients for plants like grass...

c)Decomposers eat dead materials and break them down into chemical parts. Nitrogen, carbon and other nutrients can then be used again by plants and animals. Without decomposers and scavengers, the world would be covered with dead plants and animals!

1. A plant or animal may belong to various food chains. This is known as a food web. Grass may be eaten by a goat, a rabbit, etc. The goat may be eaten by both a fox and a lion. The rabbit may be eaten by an eagle or a fox. Further on, the fox may be consumed by a lion who also ate a goat.

2. Consumers depend on producers as only producers are capable of making their own food from energy and other components gathered from the environment. Green plants are known as producers. Only they (green plants) can make their own food from the process of photosynthesis.

3. Decomposers eat dead materials and break them down into chemical parts. Nitrogen, carbon and other nutrients can then be used again by plants and animals. Without decomposers and scavengers, the world would be covered with dead plants and animals. They make space and clean the environment for new life forms.
