Yes of course this is definitely possible.
Reason :
We know that, sharpners have a blade which helps us in sharpening the pencils. Also, the blade is made up of a metal like iron, steel, copper, brass, etc. Though these metals are coated with some kind of solutions to prevent their corrosion, but they still retain their property of magnetism. All the above mentioned metals attract towards magnet.
But, we know , sharpeners are made up of plastic. Yes, they are made up of plastic but they have it sharping blade. And as mentioned above it attracts magnet. Plastic only covers the above surface of blade in order to prevent cuts and wounds. But it contains metal inside it along with a screw to hold the bald which is also a metal.
