Situations *not disorders* in which receptors do not work properly are .:

(1) When you rotate around your body axis for about a minute, then stop suddenly and stand straight you would still feel that you are falling. This is because inspite of hearing there are some other receptors also in the inner ears which maintain the body balance,

In this case the receptors *which contain fluid* assume that the body is falling because the fluid is still circulating due to inertia when you stop suddenly.

(2) Optical illusion which is a very common phenomena is the miss-interpretation of image by our eyes and mind.

(3) When you twist your two fingers such that the finger which is at one side of the hand is turned slightly over the other and that second finger is turned slightly under the first, the close your eyes and touch a small pebble with that two twisted fingers, you would feel that there is more than one pebble.
