I started working when I was 11 years old because I wanted to buy my mother a birthday present and there was no money. Actually, I did get a job working in the church preparing the Sunday bulletins for the service and earned $l.00 a week and I was in seventh heaven. I did it until I was 19. I have had a tough, hard life and there was never a time in my life I did not struggle beyond belief to earn money to achieve a goal - sometimes three jobs at one time. It was so hard but I have never ever known anything different - and I will be 88. However, in most cases, against impossible odds - I did succeed.
