according to the third law, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. supposed we have a book kept on a table, the book exerts a downward force mg on the table, while the table itself exerts a reactive force in an upward direction on the book.

His third law states that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. In other words, if object A exerts a force on object B, then object B also exerts an equal and opposite force on object A.
