The number of articles are 30....bought at 450 each.
one third to be sold at 6% loss each:
1/3 x 30 = 10 articles
6% loss= 94/100 x 450 = Rs.423
The 10 articles sold at 423 each will be= 4230
The initial price of all the 30 was = 450 x 30 = 13500
Profit of 10% on the whole would mean 110% of 13500
= 110/100 x 13500
= 14850
To find the price at which the remaining 2/3 are sold subtract 4230 from 14850
14850 - 4230 = 10620
Therefore the remaining 20 must be sold at 10620.
Price for each would be 10620/20 = 531
Therefore the rest have to be sold at Rs. 531
one third to be sold at 6% loss each:
