The profit earned by Padhu is Rs. 600.

Given:

Thiru & Padhu invested in a business in the ratio of 9:5 and

After a year Thiru got Rs 480 more than Padhu as a profit.

To find:

The profit earned by Padhu

Solution:

Given the ratio of investment = 9: 5

As we know the Ratio of profit = I₁ × T₁ : I₂ × T₂

Here the profit got after 1 year, so consider the time period of investment as one year

The ratio of Thiru & Padhu = 9 × 1 : 5 × 1 = 9: 5

Thus the Profit can be shared in 9: 5 ratio

Let 9x and 5x be the profits of Thiru and Padhu

Given that Thiru got Rs 480 more than padhu as a profit.

=> 9x = 5x + 480

=> 9x - 5x = 480

=> 4x = 480

=>  x = 120

Therefore,

Profit earned by Padhu, 5x = 5(120) = 600

Therefore,

The profit earned by Padhu is Rs. 600.

Answer: Padhu earned a profit of 600 Rs. after a year.

Given: Thiru & Padhu invested in a business in the ratio 9:5, Thiru got Rs 480 more than padhu as a profit.

To Find: Profit earned by padhu.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Let the investment of Thiru is 9x and Padhu is 5x.

Step 2: Their profit is to be in same ratio as their investment for same period of time. Thus if we take Thiru's profit as P_{Thiru} and Padhu's profit as P_{Padhu}. Then

P_{Thiru} =P_{Padhu} +480 ......eq(1) and

P_{Thiru} :P_{Padhu} =9:5 ......eq(2)

Step 3: From equation (2)

P_{Thiru} = \frac{9}{5} P_{Padhu}

Put the above value in equation(1), we get,

\frac{9}{5} P_{Padhu} =P_{Padhu} +480

P_{Padhu} =480\times \frac{5}{4} =600

So, we can say that Padhu earn a profit of 600 Rs.
