Then father's age is 3x

Age of 2 sons after 5 years = x+5+5 = x+10

Age of father after 5 years = 2(x+10) -------(1)

and also the age of father after 5 years = 3x+5 -------(2)

Keeping (1)=(2)

2(x+10) = 3x+5

2x +20 = 3x+5

2x-3x = 5-20

-x = -15

So x is equal to 15

So father's age is 45 yrs
