Books are contained in this box.

\huge\bold{Voice:-}

Voice refers to the form of verb which shows whether the subject does something or something is done to it.

For example:- Sonia wrote the book.
== The book was written by Sonia.

\underline\bold{Active:-} In this sentence , Sonia (the subject of the sentence) is the doer - she does something.
The verb wrote is said to be in the \bold{active\:voice.}

In other words, a verb is said to be in the active voice when the subject does the action.

\underline\bold{Passive:-} In the second sentence, something is done to the book- the subject (the book) here is not the doer of the action, but the receiver. The verb form \bold{was\:written} is in the active voice.

Therefore, a verb is said to be in the passive voice when the subject is the receiver of the action, and the action is done by somebody or something else.
