The 17th group elements known as Halogen family.

the similarity is that the atoms present in this group are smallest in atomic size when move from left to right in a peroid .

as size decreases their ability to gain an electron increases thats why all these elements are highly electronegative.

difference is that all other elements show variable oxidation state except Fluorine.
