Answer:

Following is a diary entry on "culture of untouchables in Kerala".

Explanation:

Dated: 1/08/2019

Dear diary,

I honestly cannot believe that even in this century, this era this generation, there exists situations such as the one I just came across while doing research on the issues of cultural norms in India.

I was going through some news report when I discovered that the cultural norm of untouchables still exists in our society. For instance, in February 2019, during the grand festival of worshiping their deity God. The untouchables were not allowed to be a part of the "thiruvayudham ezhunnallathu  " worship process. In regular terms this deity would be praised and taken to houses for blessing. But the caste system over there refuses to allow the "Dalits", i.e untouchables to enter their temple.

I was shocked when I read that this system still exists and was much surprised at their CPM who was making claims of breaking cultural stereotypes by making women empowered.

Some empowerment.

I must go now.

Signing off,

Amit
