  • 'Baisakhi' or 'Vaisakhi' is a Sikh festival primarily celebrated on 13th or 14th April every year. It is celebrated with great joy in Punjab and the Northern part of the country.
  • This festival is celebrated in the joy of harvesting Rabi crops. To celebrate the festival of Baisakhi, this fair is held on the banks of a river or canal or pond or at temple places.
  • Folk dance performances like Bhangra are also performed in the Baisakhi fair on the beat of drums with long sticks in their hands. To elevate the joy of the harvest of new crops, community feasts and Nagar Kirtans are organized.
