This ia physics question
We sometimes see our image on a polished metal surface but we cannot see our image on a rough sheet or paper or a stone. Why is it so?

Light reflects from a smooth surface at the same angle as it hits the surface. For a smooth surface, reflected light rays travel in the same direction. This is called specular reflection. For arough surface, reflected light rays scatter in all directions.18-Apr-2012
