THIS IS A 20 POINTS QUESTION! In case of silicon, when it is in pure form, it's valence shell is completed by the sharing of electrons with other Si atoms. now it is stable according to octet rule and electrons are bound in the covalent bonds. so, it can't conduct electricity. then why is it called a semi conductor?
