The Ring of Fire is a horseshoe-shaped area or zone in the Pacific zone, and 90% of the Earthquakes occur there.

It is also known as the circum – Pacific belt and is nearly 40000 km in length in the shape of a horseshoe.  

Almost 90% of the total earthquakes occur in this region, and it is 81% more in strength when compared with the quakes of other regions.
