After the Chennai leg of the Test series getting over and the series being tied at 1-1, the action will now shift to the third Test match in Ahmedabad.
The weather for the next five days is going to be very hot with the maximum temperature going as high as 38 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature will remain at 19 degrees. There is minimum possibility of rain over the five days of the Test match.
The third Test match will be played at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium which is also known as Motera Cricket Stadium. It is the largest cricket stadium in the world with a capacity of 1,10,000, which trumps the MCG in Australia that can accommodate 90,000 people, and four world-class dressing rooms.
The cricket stadium was originally named the Gujarat Stadium, but it was later changed to Sardar Patel Stadium which is also known as the Motera Stadium. While the stadium hosted its first international One Day match in 1984, it was closed down for reconstruction in 2015 and the renovation cost around Rs 7 billion.
India captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday said that the team was very proud that the biggest cricket stadium in the world was in the country and they were excited that they would be playing over here on Wednesday.
He also applauded the infrastructure that the BCCI had provided at the newly-refurbished Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.
"We're proud to have the biggest cricket stadium in the world. The infrastructure is very good and we're all really excited to play here,” Virat Kohli said in his press conference on Tuesday.
