Plant parasites are of two types: total parasites and partial parasites. Total parasites are those which are dependent on the host for water, minerals as well as food such as Cuscuta while partial parasites are dependent on the plants for water and minerals as they are usually green in colour and prepare their own food such as mistletoe.
