Note:-Language is not tough.It is easy for you,,if u had understand the concept of mass composition

Statement 1)-

Case i)Volume of solution=1litre

mass of solvent=d×v =1500×1=1500g (1.5g/ml=1500g/l)

since M=2, which shows that at 1 litre solute will be 2moles

so ,solute=2moles of H2SO4

mass of one mole of solution=gram molecular mass=98g

mass of two moles of solute=98×2=196g

total mass of solution containing H2SO4=196+1500=1696g=1.7kg(approx).......i)

Case2) -w/w=mass of solute×100/mass of solution

40=400×100/mass of solution

mass of solution containing MgO=1000g =1kg.........ii)

from both eqaution we get that,mass of solution containing H2SO4 is greater than mass of solution containing MgO

so, statement 1) is correct

Statement 2) we get above that,

mass of H2SO4=196g

Volume of solution containing MgO=m/d =>1000/2=500ml=.5L

this shows that .5L Solution contain 40g MgO

1 l solution will contain 40/.5 =80gMgO

but mass of H2SO4 is 196

so statement 2) is also correct

Both statements are correct but none of them explains one another

so option2) is the correct one

Option D. Statement 1 is true & statement 2 is wrong .

The step refers to the attachment ↗↗✅✅

Additional information :-

  • Molecular mass is the atomic weight of number of particles.

H20 = 2 × h + o

=2 × 1 + 16

=2+16

= 18

  • Si unit of Mass is kg.

  • w/w refers to standard weight.

  • d solution = dilute solution, a solution solvent, dissolving solute easily .

  • The statement refers to the given structure .

  • It is molar concept.

  • 1 L = 1000gm.(Consideration )
