iii) pancreas is bothe exocrine and endocrine hence reffered as so.

iv) insulin is not taken orally since it would be broken down in the stomach by other enzymes.

v) pancreatic islets

Answer:

(i)Glucagon is secreted by the alpha cells of the islets of Langerhans of pancreas.Insulin is secreted by the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans of pancreas.

( ii) Insulin helps the cells absorb glucose, reducing blood sugar and providing the cells with glucose for energy. When blood sugar levels are too low, the pancreas releases glucagon. Glucagon instructs the liver to release stored glucose, which causes blood sugar to rise.

(iii). The pancreas is referred to as exo-endocrine glad as it releases both enzymes and hormones. It is an endocrine gland as it produces many hormones like insulin, glucagon, somatostatin, and pancreatic polypeptides which are directly poured into the blood. It is also a digestive organ.

(iv)Insulin currently cannot be taken by mouth because the digestive juices in our stomach and intestine will break down the insulin before it has a chance to get into our bloodstream to do its job.

(v)The pancreas reveals two different types of parenchymal tissue: exocrine acini ducts and the endocrine islets of Langerhans. The hormones produced in the islets of Langerhans are insulin, glucagon, somatostatin, pancreatic polypeptide, and ghrelin.

(vi)The pancreas is about 6 inches long and sits across the back of the abdomen, behind the stomach. The head of the pancreas is on the right side of the abdomen and is connected to the duodenum (the first section of the small intestine) through a small tube called the pancreatic duct.
