Answer:
This committee will take you through testing moments.
Dark and dangerous times lie ahead, and as a very great man once said, you, delegates, may well have to make a choice between what is easy and what is right. The onus is upon you.
Now a few words of introduction. My name is Ekalavya Chaudhuri, and I am going to be chairing your committee as acting Minister for Magic in lieu of the Minister for Magic himself since he is otherwise engaged. I am an ex-student of Bhavans’, and am presently studying
English Literature at Jadavpur University Department of English (JUDE). Arguing
has always been a passion for me whether I am doing it in school uniform on the
debate stage or with my mother, and MUNing is for me more than an
extracurricular- it is a way of life. There are many people who say MUNing is
useless and of no constructive purpose. I beg to differ, and my reasons for
doing so go further than MUNs making us “well rounded individuals” and capable
of bringing about a change (although they do). Model United Nations, I feel, are
also occasions where we learn to critically analyse problems, learn the art of
diplomacy and the value of working as a team, and to respond effectively to
something that tests us, and these are all skills that are very essential and
stand us in good stead in the course of life. Beyond debating, my likes also
include quizzing, acting, chess, cricket, Roger Federer and Chelsea Football
Club.
