4/p + 15/q = 72 15/p - 1/q = 41

a = 1/p b = 1/q

4a + 15b = 72 [15a - b = 41 ] ×15

4a + 15b = 72 225a - 15b = 615

  • ADD ABOVE EQUATION

4a + 15b + 225a - 15b = 72 + 615

229a = 687

a = 3

  • Put a = 3 in 4a + 15b = 72

15b = 72 - 12

15b = 60

b = 4

  • Now

a = 1/p = 3

p = 1/3

b = 1/q = 4

q = 1/4
