Answer:

Answer is 10, Option C.

Step-by-step explanation:

By the Pythagorean principle, we know that

{hypotenuse}^{2}  =  {perpendicular}^{2}  +  {base}^{2}

This is only applicable if we have a Right angled Triangle, which we do in the given question.

Now, let's take one of the Right angled triangles in solution, and answer them by putting in the formula. Here I'm taking Triangle XYZ into consideration, which has the following values:

hypotenuse = 10 \sqrt{2} \\ base = 10

Perpendicular is the side which is on the opposite side of Base, and in contact with the right angle.

Whose Value can be supposed to be x.

Now putting these Values in the formula

{10 \sqrt{2} }^{2}   =  {x}^{2}  +  {10}^{2}

Now taking square of all the values that are calculable at the moment.

200 =  {x}^{2}  + 100  \\  {x}^{2}  = 200 - 100 \\  {x}^{2}  = 100

Taking square of a square root, is equal to it's cancellation, leaving behind only the value that was written inside. That multiplied by square of 10 which is 100, will be 100 x 2 = 200.

Now in order to remove the square value on x, which is the perpendicular of the Triangle, as well as the Distance between Y to WX.

taking \: square \: root \: on \: both \: sides \\  \sqrt{ {x}^{2} }  =  \sqrt{100}  \\ x =  \sqrt{ {10}^{2} }  \\ x = 10

Simply converting 100 into the 10 square value will make it easy for you someone to understand the solution, hence its proved that x will be equal to 10, which is the distance between Y and WX.

In order to Verify the correctness, you can apply the same method to the other Right angled triangle WZY.

I hope this Helped you, if you have any queries regarding the solution, or you think I did it wrong somewhere, feel free to ask me. Have a Good Day!
