ABCD is a trapezium
AB = 20cm , BC = 13cm , DC = 25cm and CP = 5cm
As, ∠BPC = 90°
△BPC is a right angled triangle.
By Pythagoras Theorem:-
⇢ BC² = CP² + BP²
⇢ BP² = BC² - CP²
⇢ BP² = 13² - 5²
⇢ BP² = 169 - 25
⇢ BP = 144
⇢ BP = √144 = 12cm.
Distance between the parallel sides = 12cm
(Or) Height of the trapezium = 12cm
Area of trapezium = ½ × (sum of parallel sides) × Height
= ½ × (AB + CD) × BP
= ½ × (20 + 25) × 12
= 45 × 6
= 270
∴ The area of the trapezium = 270m²
