let the distance between abdul's school and his home =80km
then time taken by it to go to school at 20kmph=80÷20=4hr
time taken by it to come from school at 40kmph=80÷40=2hr
total time =6hr
total distance=160km
average \: speed =  \frac{total \: distance}{total \: time}
avg speed =160÷6=26kmph(approx.)
