x = 3 + √4×2
x = 3 + 2√2

=> x² + xy + y²

= (3+2√2)² + (3+2√2)y + y²

= (3)² + (2√2)² + 2(3)(2√2) + (3+2√2)y + y²

= 9 + 8 + 12√2 + 3y + 2√2y + y²

= 17 + 12√2 + 3y + 2√2y + y²

= y² + 2√2y + 3y + 12√2 + 17
