We have Equation for trajectory-------

y = xtan  \: theta \:  -  \frac{1}{2}  \frac{gx {}^{2} }{u {}^{2}cos {}^{2}  theta}
or
y = xtan \: theta -  \frac{x {}^{2} }{2u {}^{2} cos {}^{2}theta \frac{1}{g}  }
or
y = xtan \: theta -    \frac{x {}^{2} }{2u {}^{2} cos \: theta \: sin \: theta \frac{1}{g} }  \frac{sintheta}{costheta}
or
y = xtantheta -  \frac{x {}^{2} tantheta}{range}
or
y = xtantheta(1 -  \frac{x}{range} )

Here...

range =x1 + x2

so putting the values we get.....

y=x1.tan(theta)[1 - x1/(x1 + x2)]

or y= x1.tan theta.[x2/(x1+x2)]

=> y=x1x2/(x1+x2) . tan theta.

that is option (b)
