GIVEN

  • Three numbers A , B and C are in ratio ½ :⅔:¾ .
  • The sum of numbers is 276.

TO FIND

  • The three numbers.

ANSWER

Given ratio of numbers is 1/2 : 2/3 : 3/4.

Now LCM of 2 , 3 and 4 is 12 .

So the ratio can also be written as ,

12 × 1/2 : 12 × 2/3 : 12 × 3/4 = 6:8:9.

Let this given ratio be 6x : 8x : 9x .

Now sum of these three = (6x+8x+9x) = 23x .

But it is given 276 .

\sf{\implies  23x = 276}

\sf{\implies x = \dfrac{276}{23}}

\bf{\mapsto x = 12}

Hence the value of x is 12.

Now the three numbers are

  • 6x = 12 × 6 = 72.
  • 8x = 12×8 = 96.
  • 9x = 12 × 9 = 108.

Hence the required answer is 72,96,108.

GIVEN :-

  • Three numbers are in ratio ½ : ⅔ : ¾ and their sum is 276.

TO FIND :-

  • The numbers.

SOLUTION :-

Let the number be "x".

So, The Numbers will be :-

x/2 , 2x/3 , 3x/4.

Their Sum is given 276.

So, The Equation :-

x/2 + 2x/3 + 3x/4 = 276.

➳ [6x + 8x + 9x]/12 = 276.

➳ 23x = 276 × 12.

➳ 23x = 3312.

➳ x = 3312/23 = 144.

Hence, The Numbers are 72, 96 and 108 respectively.
