Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

X-Y=10

X=10+Y...........(i)

2X+4Y=16

according to eq(i),

2(10+Y)+4Y=16

20+2Y+4Y=16

20+6Y=16

6Y=16-20

6Y=-4

Y=-4/6

now you will get the answer to y

then fill the value of y again in eq(i)..

you will then get the value of x.

thats it friend..

hope its helpful....

x - y =10 (eq1)

2x + 4y = 16 (eq2)

From eq 1 we get :

x= 10 + y (eq3)

Put the value of eq 3 in eq 2

2 × 10 + y + 4y = 16

20 + 2y + 4y = 16

20 + 6y = 16

6y = 16 - 20

6y = -4

y = -4\6

y = -2\3

Put the value of y in eq 2 we get :

x - y = 10

x + 2\3 = 10

x = 10 × 3\2

x = 15

Hence the value of x and y are :

x = 15

and

y = -2\3
