i) Co-ordinates of point A are (2,4) Co-ordinates of the point B are (-5,-2)

ii) Distance AB, using distance formula is  √85 (see image) units

iii) Actual distance AB measured by ruler is 9.2 units.

(iv) The distance calculated in step (ii) and actual distance measured in step   (iii) are  same

So, we observe that the distance calculated by distance formula and distance measured by the  ruler are the same .
