1- The poet compares the appearance of a jellyfish to that of the precious stone, amethyst. The body of the jellyfish in water seems to resemble the shifting light reflections on an amethyst.
2- The jellyfish makes an open and close movement with its tentacles and on being approached it shrivels up
3- The jellyfish leaves a cloudy trail of blue water as it floats away
