This is the question: Sam had some candies with him. He gave Ken 1/2 of his candies. Ken ate 1/2 of the candies and gave the last 10 candies to Jeena. How many candies did Sam have?

Sam had 40 candies.

Let the no. of candies Sam have be x.

No. of candies he gave to Ken be x/2.

No. of candies Jeena have be x/4, but its 10(given).

Therefore, x/4=10

x= 10×4

=40
