Answer:

1) The tiny particle of a chemical element, which may or may not exist independently is called an atom. Molecules refer to the set of the atoms held together by the bond, indicating the smallest unit of a compound.

2)Diffusion is a physical process that refers to the net movement of molecules from a region of high concentration to one of lower concentration.  For instance, a gas diffuses very quickly in another gas. An example of this is the way the noxious smell of ammonia gas spreads in air.

3)The molecules in gases are very apart from each other. Therefore, gases neither have a fixed volume nor a fixed shape. For instance as in solids, it has a fixed shape and a fixed volume because the molecules in a solid are closely and tightly packed together.

4)Molecules in liquid cannot move freely due to inter molecular attraction force between them which makes them attached to each other. The molecules cannot overcome this force hence do not move freely.

Answer:

1. Atoms vs molecules

Atoms vs moleculesDefinition: Most fundamental and smallest part that can exist of an element. Two or more atoms chemically bonded together.

Compared to a molecule, the level of reactivity is less as some of the valence points are filled by electrons of combined elements.

2. Diffusion is a physical process that refers to the net movement of molecules from a region of high concentration to one of lower concentration.

Example: Perfume is sprayed in one part of a room, yet soon it diffuses so that you can smell it everywhere

3. Gases are the fluid form of matter which flow from one place to other very easily and requires a container to store it. ... They have a tendency of filling the entire part of container by taking the shape of container. Because of all these reason gases don't have a fixed shape and volume.

4. Molecules in liquid cannot move freely due to inter molecular attraction force between them which makes them attached to each other. The molecules cannot overcome this force hence donot move freely.
