The mausoleum is known as Taj Mahal and it was constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved Mumtaaz Mahal in Agra.

She was the Queen of Mughal household however Mumtaaz died at Burhanpur and Shahjahan missed her.

Therefore, in her memory, he built the Taj Mahal considered to be a marvellous monument and one of the eight wonders of the world.
