Monsters ability to out smart their prey. In my essay the monster to be featured is the Arabian Ghoul. The Ghoul is a devilish Genie or Jinn which is mostly found in the Arabian deserts. “An ugly human like monster that dwells in the desert and secluded locations” (Al Rawi1). The Ghoul is said to have tricked travellers by lighting flame and leading them in the wrong direction where he could easily kill and eat them. The Ghoul is also said to be a scavenger where it would reside in graveyards so it could dig up the graves and feast on the carcass for food. Originally from Arabian and Persian folklore the Ghoul means demon, it is a shape shifting demon that can assume the guise of anything to lure their prey in (Al Rawi 46).
