This plant is commonly found in tropical areas that experience a lot of rainfall. The rainforest is one such place. Notice the shape of the leaf. It has a wax-like feel to it. As rain hits the leaf, the raindrops run off to the ground below. It is very important that the rain not stay on the leaf. What might happen to the plant if the rain stayed on the leaf?
