Area of shaded region = 5.92 cm²

Since the sides of the triangle are all equal , so it is a equilateral triangle .

So , area = 3/4 side²

And area of square = side²

Now , by the given info , Area of triangle - Area of square = Area of shaded region

=> √3/4 × side² - side² = Shaded region

=> √3/4 × 4² - 1² = shaded region

=> Shaded region = 4√3 - 1

=> Shaded region = 4 ( 1.73 ) - 1

=> Shaded region = 6.92 - 1

=> Shaded region = 5.92 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of Equilateral triangle is √3/4 (side)² = √3/4 * 4² = 4√3 cm²

Area of Square = (Side)² = 1² = 1 cm²

Area of shaded region = Area of triangle - Area of Square

= 4*1.732 - 1

= 6.92 - 1

5.92 cm²
